About Pankh
Pankh is Ayudhi Care Foundation's comprehensive girl child education program, encompassing two key initiatives: Mahri Chidakli (Our Little Bird) — a scholarship and re-enrolment program — and PANKHI — an adolescent empowerment program delivering health, life skills, and career education.
Together, these initiatives form a complete support ecosystem for girls aged 8–18 across Jodhpur district: keeping them in school through financial support, building their confidence and knowledge through workshops, and opening their eyes to the futures they can build through mentoring and career counselling.
Since 2022, Pankh has touched the lives of 1,400+ girls across 17 villages and 23 partner schools.

Mahri Chidakli ₹1 a Day Scholarship
The Mahri Chidakli Scholarship Program: Mahri Chidakli (Our Little Bird) is built on one conviction: no girl should have to leave school because her family cannot afford the ₹365 a year it costs to keep her there. That is ₹1 a day — and it can change a life.
What the Scholarship Covers:
- School stationery and learning supplies
- Uniform allowance
- Examination fee support
- Supplementary books and educational materials
- Transport support where needed
- Access to Ayudhi's mentoring network
How Girls Are Identified: Ayudhi's community outreach team identifies at-risk girls through school visits, community camps, and referrals from teachers and local leaders. Girls from first-generation learner households, tribal communities, and low-income families are prioritised.
School Re-enrolment Support: For girls who have already dropped out, Mahri Chidakli provides:
- Family counselling and sensitisation
- School documentation and admission support
- Coordination with government mid-day meal and free textbook schemes
- Bridge learning sessions to help re-enrolled girls catch up
Impact:
- 525+ girls currently receiving scholarship support
- 257 girls successfully re-enrolled in school
- 450 educational kits distributed to 23 schools
- Highest achiever: 94% in Class 10 board exams — Lodiana village

Mentoring Every Step of the Way
Pankh's Mentoring Framework:
Every girl enrolled in the Pankh program is connected with a mentor — a trained volunteer or Ayudhi alumna who provides consistent, personal guidance through monthly check-ins, crisis support, and long-term encouragement.
Mentor Profiles: Ayudhi's mentor network includes:
- Ayudhi program alumni who have completed higher education
- Women professionals from Jodhpur who volunteer their time
- College students trained as peer mentors for younger girls
- Community women leaders from SAJAG and SAMBALIKA
What Mentors Do:
- Monthly one-to-one or small group check-ins (in-person and by phone)
- Academic support and study planning guidance
- Family mediation when pressure to drop out arises
- Emotional support and confidence building
- Career exposure — sharing their own journey and introducing mentees to opportunities

- Menstrual health and hygiene education
- Nutrition and body awareness
- Digital safety and online behaviour
