Project Gyanodaya

About The Project

Gyanodaya is ACF’s project focused on providing education to underprivileged girls. Recognizing the importance of education in shaping the future, Gyanodaya sponsors schooling for 42 girls, breaking barriers to education. By nurturing these girls, this project aims to empower them and create a more inclusive and equitable society, setting new standards in women’s empowerment and child welfare.

The Need

Gyanodaya Project aids girls’ education in India, overcoming obstacles to schooling, and empowering underprivileged girls nationwide.

According to the National Sample Survey Office, approximately 15.1 million girls of primary school age are out of school in India, with higher rates in rural areas, accounting for 12.4% of the total of out-of-school girls.

Deep-rooted cultural norms and practices often prioritise boys’ education over girls’, perpetuating gender inequalities in access to education and opportunities.

Investing in girls’ education yields significant economic returns. According to the World Bank, every year of secondary education for girls can increase their future earnings by 10% to 20%, contributing to poverty reduction and economic development.

When girls get an education, they can do more things and make better choices for themselves and their families.

Poor families often can’t afford to send their daughters to school, but this project helps them.
